Last week, just as we were about to go on the air, Al "Grampa
Munster" Lewis pulled his back and couldn't do the show.
We just got word Grampa is feeling better and wants to give
it another try for this week.
This week, The Allan Handelman Show brings back one of the
all time greats, Al "Grampa Munster" Lewis. Best
known as the actor who played Grampa on The Munsters and Snouser
on CAR 54. Today, well into his 90's, he's still sharp as
a tack. What makes Grampa so interesting is his ability to
talk about anything with intelligence and a strong street
sensibility. Great stories, common sense wisdom, and a "tell-it-like-it-is"
attitude, are some of the reasons he's so relevant today.
He's toured with AC/DC, fought the FCC against censorship
restrictions and even ran for governor of New York. He even
rallied to induct AC/DC into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
and this year, thanks in part to Al, they made it! Just give
Grampa a topic and let him go. The impending war, the republican
landslide, sex, drugs, politics, or show business. Just ask
Grampa!
