Also scheduled this week, music expert George Gimarc author of Punk Diary: The Ultimate Trainspotter's Guide to Underground Rock, 1970-1982. Katrina's Pet Victims

Here at The Allan Handelman Show we consider our pets to be part of our family. We know from talking with you on the show that many of our listeners feel the same way. So we are pleased to report that a coalition of animal welfare and rescue organizations have set up a web site to reunite families with their lost pets! The Animal Emergency Response Network allows owners to post reports of lost pets, find shelters for evacuee pets, search the Found Pets database or get help caring for their pets. You can also volunteer to foster a pet or register a found pet. Rescue teams use the Lost Pets database to organize search and rescue missions.

The website is hosted by PetFinder.com who also maintains a clearing house page with information on the efforts of various animal disaster relief organizations as well as a support forum.
